Last weekend I attended the Fenimore Lane design summit with two of my closest girlfriends and, wow, I am still riding that energetic high from being surrounded by so much beauty and meeting so many lovely like-minded individuals. A little background on the design summit: It is a two day event dreamt up by the absolutely lovely and talented
and held at Mayflower Inn in Washington, CT. Not only was there a bazaar to shop featuring so many talented artisans and brands but there were various workshops (like block printing with Pomegranate Inc, decoupage with Sister Parish Design, basket weaving with Underwater Weaving Studio) and also incredibly informative panels featuring those in the design space like Emma Burns of Colefax & Fowler, of Sharland England, Eliza Harris of Sister Parish Design, etc - basically a design lover’s DREAM event. It was a weekend packed with so much beauty and camaraderie that left me feeling energized, inspired and in such an abundant mindset. Ariel has created something inextricably lovely and unique, and I highly recommend grabbing a girlfriend or two and joining us next year! The first evening I wore this top and skirt set from Rosewater House. I’ve been saving this set for a special occasion and the Serena and Lily dinner seemed like the perfect event for it. It is such a nice, thick material and so special in person. Also, I have a code for the brand - KRISTIN20 - in case anything catches your eye on their site! I paired it with these gold sandals from Loeffler Randall that I continued to wear all weekend long. They’re comfortable and go with everything.
Saturday I wore one of my favorite mini dresses, the Natasha dress by G. Label from Goop (code KRISTIN15 for all things G. Label). I adore this dress not only because of the silhouette (the boatneck is perfection) but it’s lined and the linen is thick enough to wear it’s not see through. That morning the three of us bought Kinderbrook’s baby garden basket which I then carried for the remainder of the weekend (side note, the founder, Brooke, is so lovely and kind.) That evening I switched into the Lucinda dress from Annina. This is a special dress that I wear year around, and I’m dying to get my hands on one of their dirndl sets - like this one made out of Braquenie fabric:
The last day I wore Loeffler Randall’s Andie top and Appolonia skirt. Considering it was midsummer weekend, that set seemed like a very appropriate choice! Both pieces run big so consider sizing down.
Because I am a notorious over packer, I put together an edit of everything else I packed which can be viewed here
This year I was only able to buy what I could pack in my carry on (rookie mistake), but next year I plan on bringing an empty suit case so I can really go all out at the bazaar.
My first stop after snagging the baby garden basket from Kinderbrook was Sharland England’s gorgeous table. Meeting Louise in person was one of the highlights of the weekend - she has such a warm energy to her. I purchased the marbre jug and bowl from her but also have my eye on this gorgeous rattan side table.
Ceramics are my weakness so naturally I fell in love with so many pieces from The McKenzie Shoppe.
, and I all purchased matching Nerikomi blue plates from her which I plan to use as a jewelry dish on my nightstand and I also snagged the vase above (I purchased it in a green colorway too!) I had these pieces shipped to me since I was already at my limit with my carry on but I’ll make sure to share photos on my instagram account when they arrive next week. Lastly, I bought two pieces of art from Alekka which I promptly hung in my kitchen the moment I got home.Fenimore Lane’s bazaar was such a feast for the eyes and there were so many pieces I wish I could have purchased and brought home with me. Starting with perhaps my favorite table, B.Viz Design. Becky has the most stunning collection of antique pillows I’ve ever seen and she is just as lovely as she is talented.
Another table that had me audibly gasping was The Curio Shop.
This 18th century compagnie des indes porcelain tureen and coordinating platter on the left stopped me in my tracks while Megan swooned (and purchased!) an insanely gorgeous 19th century glass frog vase she is holding in the photo above.
Of course everything was beautiful at Il Buco Vita’s table. I especially love their new Marea collection. I didn’t manage to get a good photo of it at the bazaar but here is a photo of the collection I took while in their NYC shop:
Erin from Underwater Weaving Studio was on a panel I attended and I completely fan girled over her. I was bummed to have missed her workshop (that one sold out fast!) but I did purchase one of her basket making kits right after the panel and cannot wait for it to arrive. I’ll be sure to share the process of it all - but if making your own feels a bit intimidating, she does carry a beautiful line of already made baskets you can shop. I especially love this giant shopper. so chic!
Last but certainly not least, was Jenny Cipoletti’s Cucina Cipoletti table. I absolutely adore Jenny and her organic extra olive oil was so delicious, which, by the way, makes for a fantastic house warming gift.
I cannot put into words have soul filling this past weekend was. If you have any questions about the summit, please ask below! Counting down the days until next year.

Kristin
