Happy Thursday! Anyone else absolutely craving color lately? While I’ll always have a soft spot for an all-white outfit, I’ve been finding myself increasingly drawn to an array of colors as I refresh my summer wardrobe and my home. Not so much in loud patterns, but more so through intentional solid color blocking. It’s chic, it’s playful, and it’s unexpectedly sophisticated. I absolutely love to see how others pair colors together whether its in their own home or in their wardrobe - even if it’s a simple white trouser with a primary colored top and accessory, I can still find it equal parts inspiring and intriguing.
I am loving the look of a solid blue button down - but it cant be just any blue. The cornflower one above is the Arlo Linen Cotton Button Up from Nan Nin Studio and to me is the perfect shade. I am also loving these red sandals from Loeffler Randall - my pair is in the mail and I cannot wait for their arrival. The green mesh bag above is from Hat Attack. I just ordered the other day and am already plotting to pair it with pinks and yellows. The framed mid century Swedish impressionist painting in the middle is from my new favorite, Wallflower Art Gallery. She has such a wonderful, curated selection of art at reasonable prices. Below that is an insanely beautiful pair of silk bermuda shorts from Cawley Studio - currently at the tippy top of my wishlist. Lastly, the red swimsuit is from Montce, I own and love.
Some solid color blocking inspiration from Pinterest
When it comes to color in my own home, I tend to gravitate towards more muted jewel tones for the upholstery and textiles and bright primary colors for the art. Right now we are doing a little living room refresh and so far the color palette consists of a soft peach on the walls, a deep marigold sofa (the 89” in Goldenrod performance wool to be exact), these armchairs from Sixpenny, a faded raspberry coffee table ottoman (I’m actually using this linen bed sheet for the upholstery), a pop of sage green (maybe a flatweave rug?!) and a splash of washed blue (thinking as accent chairs!) - Layer in a smattering of colorful, vintage art and some fun lampshades and this room is going to be singing! (I will be making the faded raspberry coffee table ottoman myself, should I do a tutorial?!)
Here’s an edit of all my current favorite colorful items, enjoy!
xx,
Kristin
Love all of these recs. Do you have a source for the rug in your collage?
I’d love a tutorial for the coffee table ottoman! I have an old Restoration table I am tired of looking at.
