Hi all and happy Friday! Hope everyone has had a lovely week thus far. The past few days have been a whirlwind for me and I have been feeling the full spectrum of emotions. I’ll share more on this soon but for now I’ve been spending a ton of quality time with my family, soaking up the beautiful weather in Charleston, and have found myself craving all things that radiate warmth and sunshine.
A few things that have caught my eye this week: This bangle from YSSO. Mine just arrived in the mail yesterday and I haven’t stopped staring at it - It has the most beautiful texture to it. I have also been loving Harling Ross’s collab with If Only If. This nightgown and this headscarf are calling my name! The perfect day to night pieces for balmy summer days. I have also been loving the Soane shell wall light. We went with the small size for the sunroom at my DC project and it is such a gorgeous light - also available in candle version. I recently came across this 19th century Gustavian settee with the perfect patina. Yes, it is costly, but all things considered, it’s a great price for what it is. And lastly, the Thelma light from Jamb. I think I audibly gasped when I first came across this light. I dream of this light hanging over my next kitchen table.
I’ve currently been dipping my toes into manifesting hopes and dreams for our next house. As I think ahead towards our next home which will undoubtedly be a fraction of the size of our current home now, I want it to emulate pure sunshine. That is the over arching vision for our next space: warm, inviting, nostalgic, grounding, unfussy. A space that feels like a comforting, familiar hug when you step inside, bursting with various shades of yellows. A home that has that perfect, warm glow day and night. Marigold stripes paired with Gustavian antiques, billowy ivory linens with painted floors. Put simply, a space that, when you walk inside, makes you instantly feel “wow, this is a happy home.”
I’ve also been dipping my toes into a bit of a Substack branding refresh for Spring/ Summer! The warm marigold tones feel more aligned with where my head is at currently. I have always been drawn to antique cross stitch designs so I wanted to weave that into my overall vision as well.
And lastly, lately I have been into making a few items for Astrid for spring/ summer. I recently purchased some beautiful antique linens on eBay (in particular, tablecloths with cutwork and white embroidery ) with plans to sew them into pants, bloomers, tops, etc. for Astrid. Maybe even a skirt for myself!
A pair of pants I made Astrid last summer out of a vintage pillowcase with gorgeous cross stitching
That’s it for now - short and sweet today. Working on a few interior design related posts that should be up soon. Wishing you all a lovely weekend!
xx,
Kristin
